Make sure water is not filled so high that it drains out your overflow. Have water height below overflow unless you have them sealed closed. (As a note, we always recommend keeping overflows closed 365 days a year.) 3. Turn off all water fill lines especially automatic fillers. 4. Turn off all pool circulation. 5. Place Rocks in bucket. 6. Set bucket on step or bench where you will leave it for test. 7. Mark outside of bucket at current water level. 8. Remove bucket from water. 9. Mark inside of bucket at same height. 10. Replace bucket to same location. 11. Fill bucket with water to the same height as pool level. Using chart below: 12. Note exact level of water in relation to mark on bucket. 13. Note time and date of starting bucket test. 14. Note water height in spa and other water features/basins. 15. Do not disturb pool or bucket during testing. 16. At each 12-24 hour interval - measure and record water loss inside bucket and out of bucket. Continue test for at least 72 hours, unless water loss outside of bucket is too rapid and more than 3-4 inches. After Test 1 is complete, start Test 2: TEST 2 17. Turn pool pump on - only pool pump, no cleaners or features. 18. If you have a raised spa or other water features, be sure to allow them to fill back up completely before continuing to step 19. 19. Fill pool back to same level as when you started test 1. 20. Fill inside of bucket to the same height as pool level. 21. Set pool pump to run 24 hours/day without pump turning off. 22. Do not turn on other pumps, features or cleaners, etc. 23. Note exact level of water in relation to mark on bucket. Turn off pump momentarily if circulation causes too many ripples to see exact water level on cup. Then immediately restart pool pump. 24. Note time and date of starting bucket test. 25. Do not disturb pool or bucket during testing. 26. At each 12-24 hour interval - measure and record water loss inside bucket and out of bucket. Continue test for at least 72 hours, unless water loss outside of bucket is too rapid and more than 3-4 inches. TEST 1 - PUMP OFF Starting Spa/Feature water height - Full or ______ inches low. DATE/TIME BUCKET LOSS POOL WATER LOSS START 1 2 3 4 5 6 Ending Spa/Feature water height - Full or ______ inches low. (*Remember - Wind Chill and Dew Points can create freezing conditions) IF THERE IS ANY CHANCE OF SLEET, SNOW or DEEP FREEZE (more than 8hrs below 32), THEN ALSO: 2. PLACE A WATER PROOF TARP LOOSELY OVER EQUIPMENT/PLUMBING (to prevent frozen rain/snow from having contact with equipment/plumbing.) Make sure tarp is not in direct contact with equipment/plumbing (use cardboard or lawn chair cushions between equip/tarp.) ALLOW ENOUGH AIR SPACE SO VENTS ON MOTORS ARE NOT BLOCKED. How to turn your pump(s) on: AUTOMATIC REMOTE SYSTEMS These systems should be programmed to turn ALL your pumps on anytime the air temperature dropsbelow 38. If all pumps do not come on, or you can not turn them on from your indoor controller, then: 1. Go to outside Control Panel. 2. Place Controller into "SERVICE" Mode. 3. Turn on ALL pumps (Filter, Cleaner, Fountains, Etc.) 4. After Freeze Danger - turn outside control back to "AUTO" mode. *Remember, if you turn pump on or off from inside controller, then the scheduled programming will take over control of turning your pump on or off at the next scheduled time. To avoid this, you will have to put controller into "SERVICE" mode as stated in 1-4 above. MANUAL TIME CLOCKS If you do not have a freeze protector installed on all pumps, then you will have to switch each pump on before any freeze dangers (temps less than 38 is standard) At pumps controlled by Mechanical Timers: 1. At each timer: Slide Switch(s) to "ON" positions and pump should come on. 2. If needed: Loosen and Remove "OFF" Trip Switches on Timer Dial so pump will stay on. 3. After Freeze Danger - Replace "OFF" Trip Switches on Timer Dial. 4. Adjust Timer Dials to Correct Times by Pulling Outward on Dial and Rotate to Correct time. - Check that dial feels like it seated properly back down into the gears. - If one of the trip switches is near the current time indicator (the silver marker pointing downward from center of dial), you may have to offset the dial or the trip switch to move dial. ?IF YOU CAN NOT RUN YOUR PUMPS AND/OR WE GET ANEXTREMELY LONG FREEZETHAT WILL CAUSEPLUMBING TO START FREEZING: 1. MAKE SURE MAIN POWER TO PUMP(S) IS TURNED OFF (SO PUMP WILL NOT AUTOMATICALLY TURN ON UNTIL YOU MANUALLY TURN IT BACK ON AFTER ANY FREEZE DANGER.) 2. OPEN FILTER AIR RELIEF VALVE(S). 3. REMOVE PUMP STRAINER POT LID(S). 4.
